I'd like to make a recommendation if I may. You seems that you're somewhat uninterested in watching foreign films, but if you haven't seen 'City of God' yet you should definitely give it a try. It's one of the best films I've seen it years, visually and story wise. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. The same applies to 'Amelie'. It's a little more artsy but still very good and easy to find.
Other recommendations of films you might have missed are:
A History of Violence
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Everything is Illuminated
The Cooler
Cube
Equilibrium
Gattaca
Shattered Glass
Requiem for a Dream
Sideways
And if you also might want to try some anime. If you're not a fan of the genre, 'Princess Mononoke' and especially 'Spirited Away' are easy recommendations that might make you think otherwise.

I like films with a twist. Try 'Memento' with Guy Pearce and Joe Pnatoliano or 'The Usual Suspects' with Gabriel Byrne and Kevin Spacey.
If you like Martial Arts check out Ong-Bak. No-one famous (at least not outside Thailand) The main star (Tony Jaa) has been described as Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li all rolled into one. It's claim to fame is that there are no stunt doubles (Jaa does all his own), there is no wire-work and no CGI. Worth watching if you can appreciate what's gone into it.

The Pianist. Released in 2002. Sometimes in the foreign film section but is in English. Very good.
So you have seen a lot of movies? If you have seen a lot of Hitchcock, may I recommend a comedy called "High Anxiety" by Mel Brooks? It spoofs Hitchcock's movies quite well.

Shallow Grave starring Ewan MacGregor. It is about 3 friends who live in a flat together and take on a 4th roommate. This roommate dies suddenly, but has a suitcase full of money. They must now decide whether to tell authorites the man died or keep the money... fairly good movie.

I am taking it that you have watched all the usual ones (Trainspotting, Usual Suspects, Goodfellas...etc) If that is the case I would highly recommend Walk The Line (the one about Jonny Cash) or for a more older one you still can't get much better than Scarface.

Rainman with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. A feel good film and a good soundtrack, enjoy. Also try my favourite of all time City of Angels starring Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage.

Have you seen "Skeleton Key" from last summer? It stars Kate Hudson, daughter of Goldie Hawn. It's a voodoo story with a twist similar to that of " Sixth Sense".
