hi all, I wld be moving to the US soon.... I wld like to know are there any regulations to babysit?? can anyone do it? or we have to regiister anywhere? can i hv more details??

Babysitting doesn't require any type of registration, but if you intend to do "daycare," then there are licensing requirements.


"Daycare" involves watching other peoples' children in your home, feeding the children, perhaps "instructing" them in some way. There are rules about safety, and how many children you can watch without hiring other people, etc.

12 year old girls babysit here in the states. just make sure you really tust that 12 year old girl... haha. yea, anyone can babysit here. not all can run a daycare though. that is different and more and more youll find that daycares must also be trained by the local board of education now.

Depends on exactly where you Will be. A lot of cities have different restrictions on ages of the babysitters and the children, and the amount of children they watch, and the hours. You would have to contact the city.

Obviously there are age regulations witch vary from state to state,but other than that I don't believe so. Good Luck!
