I would say Hyannis, Falmouth or Yarmouth. All of the beaches on the Cape are great, but these cities have the most other things to do like shopping, restaurants, etc. Also, Falmouth has direct access to the ferry which hourly goes across to Martha's Vineyard which is great to do for a day, even if you don't want to pay the big money to stay over night on the island, just grab a ferry schedule, it's real cheap.

Provincetown is a fun and interesting place to shop on the northen tip of Cape Cod, and also has many beaches on all sides of the cape for sightseeing. The atmosphere (gay or not) was unique and friendly.

Provincetown is a fun and interesting place. Hyannis is a classier town. There are many live theaters.
Get a copy of "What's happening in Cape Cod" (not sure of the name). Almost every store will have copies. They also include coupons to whale watching, etc.

I would recommend the National Seashore area - (Eastham - Provincetown). Coast Guard beach is nice, which was mentioned above, however it is NOT in Yarmouth, it is in Eastham. Provincetown is indeed a very gay town, however it is one of the most unique places I have ever seen and has a lot to offer culturally and entertainment wise in the Summer. For us young 20s, you may want to check out places like the Wellfleet beach comber, which is a very nice beach bar in the Seashore.

I went to the most beautiful beach called Coast Guard beach I think in Yarmouth. Amazing, you could walk for miles and sand dunes. Definitely bring a hat because it's really hot and your own refreshments because it's a national park, so there's no vending machines. Parking is like $15.

If your gay. P"Town is your place! If not, you might want to head toward Martha's Vinyard. Beautiful there.
