I have a long cedar hedge (thuja occidentalis I belive is) all around my of my house (sides and backyard). height: 6 feet . It is in very good shape. When is the best time to prune it ?
Location: Toronto, Canada = hot+high humidity on summer time. Snow, windy and -20Celsius on winter time.

from my experience I prune mine usually in spring...or fall, when I am getting the garden spruced up....nothing kills them..

For thuja hedges - my book says a light trim in August.
