probably prelabor contractions...they happen..my sister went through them for 2 weeks before my nephew was born...as long as the cervix isn't dialated, she's fine...if the cervix dialates to 6 or 7 centimeters...take her to the hospital...

It's slow labor, the contractions maybe normal when she's not ready to give birth yet, but I am worried about the showing, since this is one definite sign that baby is really due.
When I had my son, I had my showing at 5am. Since I knew that I was about to give birth, I went straight to the hospital. However, the full day passed and I had very minimal contractions and got even bored. I even walked around the hospital just to hasten up the labor as I was afraid to experience slow labor. Nighttime came, I told my doctor that I am going home. She didn't let me. True enough, the following day, the contractions got stronger and my cervix opened. My baby came out 7am the following day.
You will be a daddy soon enough. Whatever it is, take care of her and the baby. Maybe you'll have a baby boy. (just a guess)
Congratulations!

Definitely walk as much as you can and when contractions come get on all 4s and breath. This should help at this stage. Getting on all 4s will make sure the baby is facing the right way so she will avoid a back labour (the mother of all painful positions, when the baby is facing the "wrong" way).
Raspberry leaf tea is meant to make contractions stronger too. It tastes like pond water (slight exaggeration) but there is a lot of history with it. You can get it in health food shops.
The other thing that is meant to help is sex but I doubt your wife is feeling up to that at the moment.
Good luck to both of you.

From my experience as a midwife, i would say she's in "slow labour". The baby's getting ready but full labour is not yet established, try walking / standing upright and squatting, it might help bring on stronger contractions. GOOD LUCK!!! and don't forget to breathe!!

4 mins apart, get her to the hospital. She may need a c section.
If the pain is really severe.

I had the same with my 1st daughter, sounds like she is in slow labour, she needs to keep walking around like i did to bring the babour on, bending on all fours may help too. Tell her not to worry, it can be a very slow labour and i know its frustrating but she will get there in the end, she must keep as active as she can, it really does help. hope this helps.

Have her to walk a lot...though painful, it will speed up the process. First pregancy's are hard, and just be patient, the longer the little one is in the oven, the better off they will be. Good luck to y'all.
