I dont know exactly where you live but, Ther are many "Quick Release" type solvents that are not toxic and can + unlock your tiles. The old fashined way is a bit unhealthy and hard and quite messy: a wide blade chisel, hammer and lots of effort, as far as flame or torches umm well ? I would assess the risk 1st IE:safety, health hazards damage and smell to surrounding home areas ceiling etc,,, as the old saying goes If you play with fire? you are going to get burned. Besides being ecology minded is a Nice thing~ good luck!

the tortch Idea is the best and the esiest and quickest

use a figure 8 going over the entire tile will melt the glue quickest and then hammer in a putty knife and pull up the whole tile...when the tile comes off with gooie sticky glue then its melted enough if the tile looks like it will break then more heat is needed....just remember you can't burn cement but you can burn your hands use plyers and gloves.

solvents work well for areas near flamible furniture or cabnets
