yes, it's about telling people you can do what ever you want in life, and should luck turns its back on you we'll pick you up... we don't mind paying taxes as long as the taxes are used for the general good, not for the upper 1 percent and to kill people

Why do Democrats like yourself think that the way to win voters back is too insult them? I am constantly amazed by the so called compassionate mindset. I understand that not all Democrats think this way, but it is unfortunate that the ones who scream the loudest and garner the most airplay are the most intolerant extremists among you. Is it any wonder the Democratic Party continues to lose more and more power? Where is the positive message? I know there are moderate Democrats in the world, I meet them all the time, but you would never know it watching the news or reading Yahoo Answers.
Yes I am well aware of Democrat plans to indoctrinate the youth of the country, it has been going on forever. It works great on 20 somethings, but fails when people actually start to accumulate things in life, and realize they don't like being taxed out of existence. There is an old saying which rings very true - If you are not a liberal when you are young then you have no heart, if you are not a conservative when you are older then you have no sense.
There was a time when Democrats seemed to be in tune with average Americans, but these days there are just too many extremists driving the party. Democrats are losing the moderates and will continue to do so as long as they continue to move further left in their thinking. Average people in this country are close to the middle, they may lean left or right, but can acknowledge good points on both sides. The thing I hear most is that people are sick to death of all the hate mongering. Republicans may or may not be nice people, but either way they know how to present a positive message for America's future, something the Democrats are losing. Need evidence of this read your own comments.
Pick you up. Now that's rich! I am all for helping people when they are down, but Liberal Democrats are not about helping people. They are about larger government and more centralized control. The greatest attrocity ever committed against the poor in this country was an ever expanding womb to tomb welfare state. There is no incentive to improve your life. Have more children, we'll give you more money. Don't worry about Mom and Dad. Dad leaves will give you more money. Can't achieve in life, it's not your fault, it's those evil rich republicans. After all, what did they ever do for you? They certainly didn't invest in America, create jobs and opportunity, now did they? Liberals do not believe in responsibily, and when responsibily is destroyed it is replaced by apathy, and the sense that you cannot effect positive change no matter what you do. Alas, you will never understand this fact. However, I do hope that you, and people like you continue to spout your rhetoric as loud as you can, because as long as you do your power and control will continue to diminish.

Typical Democrat....blame the rich....the supposedly small amount of rich people that were affected by the estate tax was more important than the supposedly large amount of poor people affected by the minimum wage.....If they truly believed the minimum wage needed to be raised they would have voted for it, but then again its an election year, and the democrats efforts come first.

Yeah, exactly!
Because we all know that the way to get ahead in the world is through "redistribution" of weath. And we all know that the democrats will take all of the money away from those filthy, greedy, rich people and give it to those who deserve it! The poor, down-trodden democrats! The democrats that try so hard, and whose only flaw is that the greedy fat cats use and abuse them by shackling them into helpless positions that those democrats have no part in choosing.
How much of a fool do you have to be to actually want dignity in your work: to earn your way in life, to not rely on hand-outs?
Hand-outs and being treated like a child are obviously the best way. Socialism has a sparkling record and is obviously what we should strive for in the U.S..
Those who would say that self-responsibilty and earning your own in life is the only fair and right appoach are obvioulsy idiots.
If in addition to this, they are poor, we should not respect them for standing by their ideals even when they are facing a tough life, we should call them idiots and laugh at them.
I couldn't agree more!

What do democrats do for poor people? They just voted against the minimum wage increase. Look it up, it is a fact. This was a Republican bill and they voted against it for spite.
I am not joking, look this up. Now who is the imbecile?

If the only appeal Republicans had was to the rich, they wouldn't have 10 members in Congress. Each party is pandering to certain economic groups, but their core values are more critical to their long term success. The Dems continue to hurt themselves on issues like defense, immigration, families. If they gain control of Congress it will be for one term because of their special interests will come to the front.

Depends if you're poor with, or without, an education or common sense. If you would bother to check it out, you will find that the uneducated are Democrats. Also most minorities, but I repeat myself.
