air on

I actually just heard this somewhere a few weeks ago. They said that due to aerodynamics, if you are doing over 40 mph, then it is actually more gas efficient to close the windows and do the A/C. This is because at those speeds, the wind actually causes so much drag on the car it reduces the gas mileage. Under 40, you can do the windows and it is more efficient.

i read somewhere that they did test it with two big Ford Excursions on a track !!!1 the window down the 2 with the air conditionning on ,at 50 MPH cruise control on , the one with the window down did 30 lap more then the one with the a/c on !!

thank you

It makes no difference. I saw this on myth busters and they proved it. They had a truck and car both with air on and both with out and drove around a track and made no difference.
