Higher power. The human brain is too complex, the rotation of the planets are too precise, and earth functions a little too well to have all happened by a chance "Big Bang." We are unique humans created by God. That's why it's inherit in us to even wonder about a higher power. You think rain hits this earth on accident? Birds know how to migrate just because? Everything has a certain order and an EXPLOSION can't put all that together and make all that happen. I don't care how much supposed evolving is involved.

Let's examine your question. Are chimps closely related to humans?

Answer:

A horse and a cow look alike; they both walk on four legs, have a head and a tail. Are they closely related? Only in the sense that they are both farm animals. Other than a general similarity in appearance, approximately the same size, covered in hairy hide, being four-legged, eating grass they are completely different. They can't mate with each other because they are not genetically compatible. They are two different species of mammal. One only needs to look at their hooves to see that they are completely different. So a horse and a cow are only closely related because they are both mammals and both can be found in the country.

Chimp and Man:

The chimp is not biped as he helps himself along with his hands. He does not possess an opposible thumb. Although a chimp does have a voice, he does not have the power of speech as we know it. Broadly speaking, a chimp resembles a man in as much as it possesses a head, a torso, two legs, two arms, it is also a mammal, etc. It is not truly biped, it can't tool-build (because it lacks an oppossible-thumb), and it can't talk.

Man and Chimp:

Man is truly biped. He has an opposible thumb which gives him great flexibility in tool making and usage. He has the power of speech and reason. Man is the only creature on earth who can look at the Heavens and wonder, "Is there a God? Did God created me? Where do I come from? Where am I going?"

Other than both creatures being mammal, vaguely resembling each other in form and both species inhabiting the same planet, why would anyone believe that they are closely related? That is like saying a fish and whale are closely related because they both look like fish and both live in the ocean. Or a bat and a bird are the same because they both fly!

As a human we want to believe we are intelligent, maybe we are not all that smart compared to the rest of the universe. We want to believe that there is order or a plan, but the more we know as fact puts to question everthing that was written before and sheds new light that we are small and insignificant. The bible was written by man. Probably a mad man not unlike most of the people in the middle east today. I would not bet my future on them, but I will bet that through evolution, at one point my ancestor climed trees, and we are still animals today. We just make better tools.

The most obvious thing that is we are here you cant say that what is the real truth but you can guess that if you come from monkeys you have some similarities but I cant understand how did you conclude that we were driven here by higher power?
do you need to be faster than a computer to design it ?
maybe it has Sth that we dont but it doesn't mean higher
like that some animals can fly but we cant are they really higher than us???

Maybe both.

One difference in humans from other animals is our intelligence. We are the only species that can willfully alter our evolutionary path, since we have knowledge of it.

Also, your question itself points out how we are different. we have the abiltiy to recognize and question whether we are animals or not, whether there is a God, etc. I can't read a dolphin or monkey's mind, but I'm pretty sure they have no conception of a "higher power" or what an "animal" is.

well it is true that DNA is similar. Man did not come from monkey however. There was at some point a common ancestor, before several divergences that finally had humans as we know us, as one branch. Perhaps the world would have been better if Neanderthal had won out rather than homosapien

we are just animals that are self aware....and yes we are closely related to chimps....our genetic make up is about 95-99% identical (depending on which species we're compared to)...and that is a scientific fact, as in its been proven.

Higher power. Remember god created Adam and then Eve so that Adam would have a companion. He made them in his image and he was no monkey. Just read your Bible it will explain all.
