Yea .. I think you'd be getting the better player .. they are pretty much equal, carpenter is a little better though .. he will have more iwns and a better ERA , but close with K's

schmidt is hot right now - I might be inclined to hold onto him unless its a keeper league - in which case you won't get Carpenter for Schmidt anyhow.
it's a pretty fair deal. instead of asking us, just ask the guy who has Carpenter.
what you're forgetting is that you are the one trying to get rid of schmidt, not the other way around. You need to put out a flier and see what's being offered.

DO IT NOW!!!!!!!! Carpenter is starting to heat up, Schmidt is on a horrible team. Get Carpenter now.
