No, no, and hell no. Watch for Popular Mechanics or National Geographic special coming soon on TV, should put an end to this stupidity. The only people that believe that the government had something to do with it are Bush-haters. The professor who has a Web Site purportedly showing this as a government cover-up was on TV last night, he came across as a real nut and even claimed that Bush's brother blew it up! He would not answer questions, had stupid logic, and made a fool of himself.

No everything is fine in never-never-land. The people who tell you "you have nothing to fear" are the real cowards because they are afraid of any truth. They follow like lemmings because they will not take the time to try to do any research on their own. They watch FOX listen to "the king of all morons" Rush and parrot everything they hear. Hell, I don't want to miss the baseball game, NASCAR or god forbid any football game. Tomorrow when I go talk to the guys and if I don't know who caught that touchdown in the last second of "The Game" they'll think I'm queer or something. Research on your own, read as much as you can then make up your own mind. If you wait for the government to tell you anything you have a very long wait. In regards to 9/11 I still don't know the answer but it's not what it seems because there are too many holes in too many of the stories both pro and con. It's anti-american to just folow along like a mindless, lazy idiot. You are an American so get involved. Learn as much as you can about the politicans you vote for and if you can by all means question them contsantly, that's what you are paying then for. You are not paying them to look good on television and recite the soundbytes that are prepared for them based on the lastest poll numbers. Demand a free press because all citizens have the right to know. Why? Simply put we are paying the tab at the end of each day.

I'm amazed at both the question as well as some of the answers. Terrorist organizations have targeted this country for a long time. You may want to keep in mind that Clinton was in office for two terms. Bush was barely in his first year. If it was a government plan Bush would have needed time to route all Clinton left-overs. I know that a professor in Wisconsin is teaching that the government planted dynamite in the World Trade Center and faked the footage of the planes crashing into the building. Then again his actual class is supposed to be Islamic studies. Others blame the government for not reacting fast enough or for not fully grasping the scope of the intelligence pointing to a possible attack. It's easy to point blame after the fact. I spent years in the private protective field. Many of us believed that it was just a matter of time before an attack happened. Unfortunately our timing ran right into the Clinton years. I am not pointing to him directly but, those of us who tried to point out the possibilities were faced with predominantly democratic leaders on various levels. Most of them listened with a hidden smirk, thanked us for our time and pretended that the meetings never happened. Before somebody thinks I am attacking democrats there were republicans with the same attitude.

With that said any person foolish enough to base their opinions on a movie needs to learn how to read and investigate on their own. Movies are made with one object in mind - to make money. The best have been horror films and conspiracy films. The conspiracy films use some fact, a lot of theory and a great deal of fiction then protect themselves under the 1st amendment (you know freedom of speech and expression) to make money off of people who ask questions with out actually looking into the subject before hand. Try living in another country such as Kazakhstan or Russia and attempting a film that implicates its government. No one would ever see it and the individuals responsible would be penalized. This country has freedoms that too many take for granted. Use those freedoms to learn the real truth.

They knew it was going to happen, but did not stop it. Historians said FDR did the same with Pearl Harbor. After 9-11 the public was manipulated by fear. They accepted the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. OIl companies and defense contractors made billions. The US Treasury was looted. We are in record debt, which we will have to re-pay with interest. The economy will be stagnant for the next decade at least.

We'll never know for sure, but I hope they didn't have anything to do with it.
Maybe there were warning signs? Maybe our government could have done more?
Hindsight is 20/20.
I bet the movie you're talking about is Loose Change/911? I saw it too.
I also watched Farenhiet 911 when it first came out and it made me very ANGRY. I wanted Bush out of the White House.
But the majority (?) of the citizens in our country didn't agree with me.

Didn't that movie portray some undisclosed 'faction of the government' as being the culprit, rather than the government itself?

I suppose a lot of people wonder about that. I wonder myself, but try to keep an open mind and remain objective.

Movies like that fuel suspicions. But when it comes to Hollywood, don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you see.

Hollywood is in the entertainment business, not the fact-finding business.

You people all need to get real!

Ask any architect or structural engineer if the collapse of those buildings was caused by those airplanes running into it, and they will laugh at you. High-rise buildings have survived severe earthquakes, bombings and fires in the past, and remained standing. A collapse like that DOES NOT happen.

Wake up people!

If you mean "Did they plan it?" Absolutely not. They would never, under any circumstances attack their own military establishment. That just isn't even logical thinking.

The only thing the American government did was try to react as best they could to a surprising and unexpected situation. It is only sad that they didn't heed the warnings before hand, such as the one by Oliver North.

I don't think the terrorists are smart enough to pull off something like 9/11. and the U.S did have the means, motive and opportunity. I believe it was a very seccessfull profit maximising decision, that gave the U.S a reason to invade Iraq (oil) and i believe Iran and Syria are next (oil).

I think this country is obsessed with "conspiracy theories" since the assassination of President Kennedy. Anyone who thinks that a country that is civilized would kill their own citizens in such a horrible and public way and in such great numbers should be living in another country. I have no great love for government but I do belive that we have more morals than terrorist nations. Betting my life (literally) that I am correct.
