Wireless networks are notorious for fluctuations. If the router is in another room, it can interfere with the signal. Make sure the router is elevated as much as possible, as this will enable the signal to travel farther. Aslo, you may need a new router if you are constantly having connectivity problems. We used to have a netgear router and it sucked buttholes whenever I was on the wireless, so we got a new one and it worked alot better. True story ;)

most connections are flawed like you said due to a couple of possabilities such as going under a bridge, water or other lubercant substance such as oil, dog saliva, or other wet substances. What i would do if i were you is turn your phone off for one day put it in a dry place see if it dries up and if that works i also wanted to tell you

Go into your router settings and make sure they are set for 54.0. If it is set at 108, it will fluctuate like crazy. If everything is set right try moving your router to a more central location. Hope this helps you...Steve

other people might be latching on to your connection....password prtect it.....or get a modem with more kbps
