I moved recently, and had my pick of anywhere in the U.S.

Here were the top 3:

1) Austin, Texas: nice job growth, great weather except for summer, good clean city, hip culture, not too crowded, no state taxes. Housing market still not crazy.

2) Atlanta, Georgia: larger population, nice job growth, friendly people, good deals on housing.

3) Seattle, Washington: rainy climate but amazing temperature range, lots of jobs, bit more crowded, higher taxes, intelligent/hip people. Unfortunately, in a high earthquake zone.

Nothing much came close to these three, but Dallas is OK, and NYC is nice if you have big bucks and want constant excitement.

I live near Canandaigua Lake (which is outside Rochester NY) and I love it here. I can't imagine living somewhere where you can't experience all the seasons and it's great near the lake in the summer, and we have ski resorts (not the best, but none the less) in the winter, awesome colors in the autumn, beautiful springs, and it has small town charm. That's just my opinion=)

It's all great! Depends what your looking for. Are you a city person? Country person? Into a certain kind of sport? What's your nationality? What are you looking for?
