Make sure you can afford it, don't forget it's not just the rent you will be paying. As you will be 'just' renting at the very worst you'll only be stuck with it for 6 months if you don't like it.

look at the area. would you feel safe walking in the street at half cut on a sat night? look at the decor, is it new? is the place clean? is it secure, cause its YOUR stuff that got to be safe. dont rent if there are bars on the windows, WHY? B/C 1. the neighbourhood is dodgy 2. it means that your trapped in the house should a fire or summit happens and 3. you don't want to live in a prison. if you do however rob a bank, you wont even have to pay rent that way.
basically use your head but trust your instincts be wary of your land lord suss them out first, stay away from scumbags and ****-holes.

First look at the neighborhood , then look at the house its self see if theres anything that needs to repaired or replaced then let the landlord know and ask how long will it take to get problems fixed. I would also buy a camera and take pictures of every signal room in the house so when you move out they cant say you caused damage when you didn't.

Walls, floor, doors. :) the usual stuff. jk Most importantly as one who has been there make sure its a decent landlord! If you think the cops can be harrassing just end up in a pad thats owned by a little bloodsucker that does'nt trust anything you do and you will see way more of that person than you want to.

do not stay on the same handle, they'll end your reward and while he stops paying the lease you would be homeless. the government does not provide a DAMM! we are a homeless family they don't care ! stay one after the other and defend your reward. ! Be sensible for you sake and the toddler and him too !
