If you mean a webcrawler bot, it depends on the algorithm the host is using to decide how to rank your page. Usually the spider just gets the information from your META tags, so make sure they are all filled in. For a good ranking you need to have popular websites link to you, have a high through-flow of traffic and, less importantly, link to other popular websites.
Make sure all your pages link up too.
Don't use backdoor pages as most algorithms will now penalise your site for them.

i have never heard of computer spiders i thought this was going to be some kind of joke but obviosly not
