I want to know how many of you believe in racial purity. I've heard many people say that they wouldn't have a relationship outside their race believing that they would be degrading their own race by mixing. Now after doing a little bit of research, I've seen how in the past there was often mixing between cultures. If you believe in preserving racial purity, what evidence can you present that it truly exists are all the mixing that's been happening throughtout history?

Well speaking in genetic terms mixing races seems to be a good thing. Mixed breed dogs are more healthy generally because when you breed two animals you are passing on both weaknesses and strengths. If both parents have the same weaknesses (same breeds) than the offspring might have that same weakness doubled. With two very dissimilar parents the offspring is more rounded, less compounded weaknesses. That's how I understand it.

I think half white/black men and women are very beautiful. They say that one day all the races will be blended and that the humans of that era will be olive skinned. Till then enjoy the variety.

People who say all that bullxit about racial purity don't have anything in their brains. The map of human genome has showed that all human beings are similar in more than 99% of the genes, and that racial differences are an extra-tiny percentage of it. Science has also demonstrated that mixing is the only way in which Nature evolves and supersedes itself, so if you mix you offspring is stronger genetically. By the way there is a documentary made by the Afro-American scientific community in the USA on how the idea of race has been built and exploited along the history; I don't remember the title, though. By the way, I had a black boyfriend and I loved him dearly, he was my God. If you like the person's soul, nothing else matters.

Mixing between cultures and races is not new, but religion played a role in slowing it down. I am in a mixed racial relationship, Chinese/White and the only difficulties we have experienced are compromises between our cultures. Acceptance by others has been great but we live in China where people are very tolerant of white Americans...or at least where we live. Racial purity is not an issue here, but I believe that fitting in, and adapting is most important.

I can't find it now, but I once read that one in thirty white Americans have at least one black ancestor because of the slavery era. Racial purity, I believe, is a thing of the past and not likely to exist much longer. There are examples of tribes in Africa that may be "pure", but with increased contact with outsiders this may even change.

I think "racial purity" is nonsense.

I'm supposedly all Northern European descent...however, every generation there's a very olive skinned, curly haired, Roman nosed (typically male) who pops up in our very pale family tree. I'm assuming some Roman soldier said "howdy" to some relative in the time of the Caesars.

Having said that...if I'm right about Italian in there somewhere, then there could be any other race in there. The Romans integrated virtually every conquered race into their armies. Then once we get to the US...who knows what my multi-greats were doing?

So, it's stuff and nonsense.

A lot of people say that but have no clue what kind of stock they came from, better check out your family tree before making wild statements like that.I truly believe that love is love!It has no color,no race,no age limit.Date who you want to date, marry who who chooses you, have offspring to show the world what love can produce.Don't just be,live life to the fullest.

I don't have a problem with mixed race relationships at all. I think its perfectly acceptable nowadays.

However, I think that when a couple have kids they should teach both cultures to the kids, so that they don't forget their roots.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Eventually, if everyone is the same color, there will be no more racism, and that will eliminate one of the major problems that we face in society today.
Unfortunately, there's not enough open-mindedness going around for everyone to see this.
