An ant that finds a food source makes its way make to the nest leaving a trail of "scent" that all the other ants can follow to get to whatever tasty treat the first ant found. So they move in a 'queue' because they are following a "stinky highway"!

They don't actually. They move by smell and feel. It is us humans that call it a queue. the ants have no idea.

They follow a chemical trail left by the other ants , it helps them find the way to food and back to the nest .
