a local l.p.g. retailer has a small fleet of delivery trucks that run off LPG they do there own maintenance but bring their machine work to where i work, i see heavily carboned ports and valve stems and dished exhaust valves ,these trucks are not small they are a variety of brands and like most fleet use trucks any different driver may be assigned any different truck on a daily basis so the drivers don't care and become savages to get their routes done on time[they don't spare the trucks] other than that they seem to do just fine .

It is cheap and economical to run the vehicle in cost by about 50%. It generate higher heat compare to petrol driven engine. Wear and tear is higher about 20% excess. Over all performance wise less pickup & power. If you can sacrifice this aspect it is worth to change over.

in Italy about 90% of all cars are gas (LPG/Methane) they have been using this for the last 30 years, with no side effects to the mechanics but it costs about 20% of the price of gasoline. You loose a little in power with the methane but the cost more than covers that

virtually no change in life, both burn cooler than gas, thus the loss in power. engine would last a little longer, with same maintanance, (less stress). The money saved would be worth it, if you can afford the conversion.
