Please elaborate a little more. What content you are burning on your DVD disc?? If thats movies then, I don't think it'll play the files straightly, You'll need DVD Composer. This software will turn your files to be played by DVD, then burn them using Nero.

To download DVD composer--

if you are trying to burn (copying) DVD film, it wont work, because DVD films are copy protected. You must use a software to solve it like DVD region free CSS then nero's burned DVD will work, you may try Nero Codecs in the full pack, but I am not sure about it! DVD region free CSS is tried and works

There are three main problems with burning encrypted dvd's. The first one is the format of your dvd player - the one you will be watching the movies on - what will it actually play? There are many types of blank dvd's: DVD+R, DVD-R, dual layered dvd's, etc. Check your user manual to see what format your dvd player will play. Some play DVD+R, and some play DVD-R, or both. If you lost your manual just check the manufacturer's website, they usually PDF it for you if you can get the model number right. Most newer dvd players will play just about anything, so it doesn't matter wether you get DVD+R or DVD-R blank dvd's. I just get the 4.7 gig blank dvds, and get whatever is on sale at the moment. Dual layered dvd's are nice because they will have the space for just about any movie, but they are ridiculously expensive. Just get the 4.7 gig and don't worry about it.

The second major problem you run into is the size of the movie. Most movies are in the 6-10 gig range when you try to save/burn them, but most blank dvd's are only 4.7 gigs, but this can be fixed. The main point of this is that too many people buy dual layered dvd's when they rape you on the cost of them. Just get the cheapest. Make sure you check your hard drive to see that you have 5-10 gigs of free space to save movies.

The last problem is of course the encryption. Sony is, and has been, the leader on encrypting media to make sure you only have rights to that copy which you have purchased, and no other. So basically if you scratch your dvd, you have to buy another one and go screw off. They intentionally put "bad sectors" into their disks, it doesn't matter to your dvd player cuz it will just skip it without you noticing, but it is very bad for decryptors, they just don't want you making a copy of a dvd you own. Anyone who has ever let a friend borrow a cd or dvd knows how frustrating it is to get it back covered with beer stains, pot seeds, and various scratches. Here's the programs that will help you backup your dvd's:

DVDShrink is great because it reads your dvd and can shrink nearly any movie to around 4.64 gigs, which is perfect for a 4.7 gig disk. This program is also compatible with Nero, which really helps if you have it. It also decrypts them and makes them burnable, if that is a word. You do lose some quality shrinking a movie, but you can barely notice it. Although DVDShrink is great, they got a court order to stop updating their site at around 2003. They used to update it all the time to take care of new encryptions, but that is no longer possible, so new releases that you buy might not work if they have newer encryptions. It is legal to download it and use it, but they can't update it anymore. The best thing about DVDShrink is that it is free. Just google it and download it. Here is a great guide to using DVDShrink that someone wrote:

You are going to run into some problems with DVDShrink. As I have said that most movies will burn fine with this program, not all. You must download DVD Decrypter (Also freeware), as this program will rip a dvd to your hard drive and take away the encryptions, but will not shrink it for you. DVD Decryptor is great when it isn't necessary to shrink a movie. Some movies, mostly comedies or foriegn films, are under the 4.7 limit. It also works great if DVDShrink can't handle a movie, and gives you some BS error. It is good to just save it to your hard drive with DVD Decrypter and let DVDShrink shrink the files when they have already been decrypted. It helps, but i'ts not perfect. Once again, just google it and download it, it's free. Here is a good guide for using DVD Decrypter:

There are a lot of other freewares out there, DVDFab is a decent one. DVD clone and AnyDVD are good too, but you gotta drop some coin for those. The ones I gave you are all free.

I must say this too: this does work on rented DVDs but I recommend you don't do it! It is very illegal and can cost you a lot of money and time in prison. I have no problem backing up dvd's I already own though. I have let my friends borrow too many of them.

Happy Burning!

well, Nero is the best, check the media you are using, make sure it is good quality, also maybe it is the DVD itself

The last chance that you are using it improperly,

Nero is very good, i experienced it for long time
