Easy way is go to tools/internet options and clear history...if you want to erase entirely all the searches etc follow any of the following:

..I do the following regularly almost every hour or so of computer use and especially before I shut down my computer! It helps me control virus and spyware and speeds up my computer!

If you have Internet Explorer as your browser.
Click Tools at the top of your screen,a menu will drop down, click on Internet Options, then click on the Content tab.
Under Personal information, click on the AutoComplete box.
On the AutoComplete Settings window click the Clear Forms box to delete your current history, or you can uncheck the Forms box to permanently stop the generation of the search history.also under "general" click "delete cookies" and "delete files" them "clear history" put days at "0" then click on "settings" click "view files" click on top of page "edit" then click on "select all" then click on file click on "delete" close window makse sure you click on "apply" and "ok"

If you just want to clear the searches on Yahoo Home Page or any other Yahoo page, double click the search box, this will make a menu drop down with your searches, put your cursor on what you want to delete to highlight it, hit the delete button on your keyboard. If you want to delete everything just hold the delete button down until everything is deleted.

To clear searches on Yahoo Toolbar, click the pencil icon beside the search box,a menu will drop down, click Clear Recent Searches. If you want to stop saving recent searches, click Toolbar Options and uncheck "Enable Search History",or check "Auto-clear Search History when quitting IE" to clear history when you close your Internet connection.
To clear your history from Mozilla Firefox:
1. Go to the "Tools" menu. 2. Select "Options" > "Privacy" > "History." 3. Click on "Clear." To completely disable the history function, set "Remember visited pages for the last X days" to zero ("0"). 4. Click "OK" to exit.
or Firebox * Either press Ctrl+Shift+Del or Click Tools=>Clear Private Data.
* To pemanently stop saving data that you entered in search and form fields :
Goto to Tools=>options=>Privacy=>Saved... uncheck the "Save Information As I enter in Form and Search Fields"
your search or form entries will not appear anymore.

Google Toolbar :To clear your search history from the drop-down text box on the Google Toolbar:1. Click on the 'Google' logo to access the drop-down menu.
2. Select the 'Clear Search History' option. This will clear all the previous searches from the drop-down box.
All you recent searches on the toolbar will be cleared

To delete the search tool in the start menu, Go to Start >> Run >> Type in REGEDIT

Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft\Search Assitant\ACMru

Your actual search list is kept there. Delete the actual text used for your searches, nothing else.
