How does fasterfox increase the speed? What is meant by 'plugin' & 'tweaking'?
Plz help.
PS - What's the use of page load timer which appears with Fasterfox?

WHAT A COINCIDENCE BUDDY, I'VE GOT THE BEST HACK FOR FIREFOX.AND PLUGINS ARE SMALL UTILITY PROGRAMS THAT WORK ALONG WITH UR BROWSERS AND TWEAKING MEANS ALTERING THE DEFAULT SETTINGS TO GET THE OPTIMAL PERFORMANECE. THIS TWEAK OF MINE REALLY WORKS :-

1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages MUCH faster now!

well
i dont knowmuch clearly how can firefox speed up internet. but i think i has an advanced cache where it stores the webpages you have visited and when the next time u visit that page it provides you with the page in its cache.so this speeds the viewing.
and plugin is a small software utility that enhances the working of a software.
tweaking means customising a software for our personal needs. usually tweaking options are not available for general users. you may have to install a particular software to tweak something like windows xp or firefox.
i think page load timer keeps track of time in which a page opens, or may even tell you in how much time a page will load.
