ie would you prefer to put a bid on something that ends on a weekend or after work or what?

I would like to know an optimum time to end an action.... I prefer weekday evenings myself but that is not the case with most of my friends ---- what do you prefer? Thanks :-)

PS I have put it under local business cos the internet is local to everyone (kinda)

After having sold about 25,000 things on eBay I find that it depends on what you're selling as to when is the best time to list.

The peak time is between 7pm and 9pm in the evenings of Monday to Thursday. Fri, Sat and Sun are also quite busy at these times but not quite so much.

Generally I find small items are best sold in the evenings and large items at weekends.

If it's something you'd normally buy without giving it much consideration then list the auction to end early in the evening - people don't have that much time in the evenings but for quick purchases it doesn't matter.

For larger purchases where people want to consider their options, discuss with family and friends, obtain comparisons etc then list at a weekend when people have the time available.

Think of the way you'd buy something - if it's just a pair of shoes you'd buy them quickly, maybe in a lunch break or just by popping into a shop, the sort of thing you'd happily do in the evening.

If it was a larger purchase such as a motor vehicle then you'd probably buy this at a weekend when you have more time available.

Look at the other items that are listed on eBay and see what time the auction ends, look especially at what Powersellers are doing as these are the people with lots of experience of eBay.

I usually don't care when an auction ends. I try to be online towards the end so I don't get outbid on something I really want. Make sure when bidding that you check the sellers feedback score and shipping charges. A lot of sellers charge way to much for shipping. I had a guy sell me something and charged me $20.00 for shipping. When I got the package the postal stamp showed it only cost him $4.70 to ship.

Evenings is the best time to end an auction. The majority of people are at home and watching thier bid.

Good luck

use it in the day in your time zone unless you want big postage costs
