I imagine that most guys would be okay with it but what is the female point of view and have you ever done it?

I am a 16yo girl, and I have been sunbathing topless for about 2 years in my pool and I luv it now.
My first time was at the beach when my family was on holiday when I was 14 (we live a long way from the coast). And it was by accident. My brother and I went to the beach for the day while Mum and Dad went elsewhere. I went swimming and lost my bikini top in the surf. My brother and I looked for it for ages but never found it. Neither of us had a shirt with us, so I had no choice but to go topless for the rest of the day. The first hour or 2 were embarrassing, but then I got used to it and actually enjoy it.
I have only been to the beach once since then, and it was with a group of friends. A couple of the girls decided to go topless, so I did to. I don't think there's abnything wrong with it, and it's great to have no tan lines.

I'm originally from Germany and find that it's a wonderful way to sunbath. As a women I have no problem with it and think Americans are way to worried about nudity but have less of a problem with violence. Side note: I grew up seeing nude people on the beaches in Europe and it didn't corrupt me and trust me, seeing old people naked walking along the shore is nothing like an X rated movie. It's really not a sexual thing when it's something you experience naturally as a child.

I have never gone topless but I have gone nude. Well, I guess that would be topless. So, my answer is yes.
I think you should do it in designated areas. Some people do not recognize the importance or even know how to teach their children morals and proper behaviour. It's like letting a child in to see an x-rated movie. Parents have the right to choose what their children experience in life for the first twelve years. Nudity on a public beach takes away the parents choice. Time may come but I think right now we should wait until we expose ourselves in public areas.

I have no problem whatsoever with topless sunbathing with either sex!! I only frequent naturist beaches anyway, so its all kit off! But there really should not be any issue, we are basically just two sexes, and everyone is a variation on a theme as far as I am concerned. It is very old fashioned and stuffy to be upset with people not wearing any clothes, its how we come into the world, what could be more natural then?
There is no better feeling of freedom when one can sit or lay in the sun with no hindrances of clothing. Here in Spain, I go to the beach where there are people of all shapes, sizes and ages, from little children, to teenagers to grandparents, whats the big deal?

It really doesn't bother my if chicks want to sunbathe topless on the beach. What really bothers me is when they wonder up to the beach bar topless, I find it totally inappropriate to be faced with someone elses breasts while I am eating my dinner! There is a time and a place for toplessness and it is def not the beach bar!

Also annoys me when I see topless women walking down to the sea holding their arm across their breasts until they get into the water. What is the point?!?!!?!? You are either topless or you're not! If you don't want people to see your breasts as you walk to the sea, put your top on!

I've done it, its GREAT, a lot more comfortable than having your bra on, specially when you've been in the water and the bikini is wet and it sticks to you.. I hate that.

If people stopped seeing the body s a sexual object, and just as a body, it would be fine.

And as for people looking at me while I'm topless ( I'm 22, nice body, I know some are gonna look) I don't care, as long as they don't get anywhere near me. I'm just careful not to do it if I'm on my own, ( need bodyguard, a friend, just in case lol) or in front of teenagers because I know you can't control your body and you mind really well at that age.
WHY some people think we do it for HOW IT LOOKS? Its about FEELING more comfortable.

I've never done it. For one, I'm too uncomfortable with my body and always have been. Secondly, I just don't think it's right. And as far as other people doing it... I don't care what other people do but I would not go to a beach that allowed it and I wouldn't allow my family to either. I mean c'mon, do ya want your husband and 12 year old son gawking at someones breasts?? It would be embarrassing to me. Plus I feel that when a husband gawks at another woman in his wife's presense I feel that it gives the other woman a bit of leverage. In her mind she knows. And she's thinking, "Your husband thinks I'm hot." And you know darn well she's gloating about it!!

I'm no oldie (30) and I'm not a prude either in any way! I would say though I'd prefer it if women kept their tops on. I certainly don't like seeing nipplies hanging out - it's not attractive. A pretty bikini looks much nicer. It's like men being allowed to sunbathe with their d***s hanging out. Gross.

I have done it in Europe because no one things twice about it. Men don't ogle or say anything inappropriate. I think North American men have a hard enough time controling themselves in front of women in a tank top so I don't think they would fare to well in front of topless women. I have no problem doing it here in Europe but I wouldn't do it in Canada where I am from.

If a guy can do the beach sans top, so should the women!!! Been to many places where it is excepted or tolerated and sadly women do have to endure the stares from both men and women. Naturalist facilities solve the problem in that everyone is sans suits but again, not everyone women is comfortable in that environment either. My wife and I are fortunate that we have a private area at our home to enjoy the sun as we choose, without the peanut gallery.
