Is this why there are so many Wars?

Could it be that there are too many politicians "aspiring" to be recognised as “Sons of God”, because they are not blessed with: persecution, abuse, mercy, being meek, etc…

(Jesus’s words from the Film “Jesus of Nazareth”)
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who morn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for what is right, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see god
Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of god
Blessed are those who are persecuted, in the cause of right, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
Blessed are you, when people abuse you, and persecute you, and speak all kind of calumny against you, for my sake, rejoice and be glad, for your rewar

Good question - if it were the case it would explain a lot.

There are a lot of religious nuts out there, especially those God Bother'ers in Americas bible belt, who follow blindly and take every word of the bible as being literal truth...

Peacemaker to them could therefore Mean George Bush is indeed a "Blessed Son of God", in the Roman, sorry, American SENATE.

You Like to quote films, try this, from the OMEN

When the Jews return to Zion
And a comet rips the sky
And the Holy Roman Empire rises
Then you and I must die
From the eternal sea he rises (Politics)
Creating armies on either shore
Turning man against his brother (Jew/Muslim/Arab/Christian)
'Til man exists no more...

war only brings more war.
it comes from a metality of competition.

War for peace is not as simple as it sounds.
for example even though a war may solve an issue for one side it doesn't mean the rest of humainty is better off, or in the same position.

For example WW2 solved the issue of facism but not of post colonies or famine or the poor, the cold war greed for dominace

the civil war solved the question of the Union holding together but not of poverty or race equality in law.

i can go on if you like.

Jesus would want peace through peace.
really it can be done by providing justice on a global scale and addressing the issues of the poorest among us globally.

You might as well quote from Enid Blyton .!!....Today ,nobody can be interested in this old, badly translated, incomplete collection of homilies and tales that, although some of the ideas are sound,is meaningless.
Get a grip...!!...Realise that war is mostly the fault of loonies who are unable to bend and compromise because of this, and other, "religious" old doctrine.!!

The problem is there are too many who want to be "sons of God" and not "daughters of God" that's why there are so many wars.

When has peace ever been involved when "sons" (aka males) want the peace?

Hope you are not including the US (Bush) and UK (Blair) in your blessings. These two men as fundamentalists are bringing Armageddon to us all. They are on a thrash and burn policy.

I think your movie script was plagiarized from Matthew 5.

Yes, to long. And you have to keep in mind that freedom has to be guarded. And you can't guard freedom and security with pacifism. It will never ever work.

That question is far too long for me to be bothered to read, so I'll guess my answer:

No, as long as you don't play with it too much.
