Okay, it all started when Israel occupied lands for Lebanon and Palestine.... (About 50 something years)
They had the support of USA, so every body chickened and stayed quite....
Then Israel tried expanding into Lebanon and Palestine....
when they saw some resistance.... they tried weaken them by assassinating or kidnapping their leaders
There is no good cause for this war...
it is simply because Israel is trying to expand....
and they will do it even if it means that people should die in the process
Specially if they are Muslims.... then it would be for Israel just like killing 2 birds with one stone

Israel and Lebanon are not at warfare. that's, neither united states of america has formally declared warfare at different. The incursion by using ability of the Israeli military into Lebanon is in retaliation for the kidnapping of a quantity of that's squaddies by using ability of Hezbollah, a political and paramilitary corporation that's area of the Lebanese government, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that no longer that's military. Hezbollah has additionally presented rockets in direction of civilian objectives in northern Israel and so Israel has bombed objectives in Lebanon in an attempt, all be it too heavy surpassed and misguided in that's theory, to break the provide lines for the places wherein the missiles have been presented and destabilise the help Hezbollah acquire from the Lebanese persons.

It’s a fight between cousins.
Both Jews and Arabs claim Abraham as the first of their tribe. Both claim that God gave the land to Abe.
Abraham had two sons.
Ishmael, the son of Hagar.
Isaac, the son of Sarah.
According to the Arabs, Abraham chose Ishmael as his heir.
According to the Jews, Abraham chose Isaac.
They have been fighting over the inheritance ever since.
Abraham should have had a good lawyer (probably a Jewish one, his mother would have been so proud) to draw up his will. Then the problem would have been resolved.
By the way. The international authority (UN) in 1948 partitioned the BRITISH Mandate into Israel and Palestine. (UNGA Res 181). So, according to international law, Israel does own that particular piece of real estate.

Beginning of conflict:
According to Haaretz on 12 July 2006 a ground contingent of Hezbollah militants attacked two Israeli armored Humvees along the Israel-Lebanon border with anti-tank rockets, capturing two Israeli soldiers, and killing three.[22] Five others were killed later on the Lebanese side of the border on 12 July during a mission to rescue the two captured soldiers.[23] In a report the Lebanese police force stated that the Israeli soldiers were attacked and captured on the Lebanese side of the border on 12 July during a mission to infiltrate the Lebanese town of Ayta al-Sha`b,[24] though the U.N, EU, G8[25], and prominent news agencies[26] have characterized the Hezbollah action as "cross-border". In an interview with the London Times, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said: "The war started not only by killing eight Israeli soldiers and abducting two but by shooting Katyusha and other rockets on the northern cities of Israel on that same morning. Indiscriminately."[27]
Hezbollah's attack was named Operation Truthful Promise, after a "promise" by its leader Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah to capture Israeli soldiers and swap them for Samir Kuntar and other Lebanese prisoners held by Israel.[28][29]Later on, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah declared: “No military operation will return them… The prisoners will not be returned except through one way: indirect negotiations and a trade of prisoners.”[

In May of 1948, after Lebanon declared its independance from France, they attacked Israel. That is what started it.

The reasons for the war are crystal clear. Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers, after crossing the border. Israelis, demanding the soldiers' release, is waging war against Lebanon, who are harbouring the Hezbollah.

the countries aren't at war, its the idiots who want everything their own way that's caused it regardless of their own peoples opinions and ideas. Too many factions want power (greed & corruption) for themselves.
Selfishness is how it started.
Historically, two related families could not get along. Unfortunately every family has it's own problems.
