No. Just brush your tongue with the main toothbrush. A clean tongue is apparently important. My mother had heart surgery last year and was told oral hygiene was vital to her recovery.

You are totally right, this is a commercial rip-off. Manufacturers are trying to 'wow' us with extra features on toothbrushes to beat off the competitors. we have been doing fine survival-wise for the last 3000 years so what difference would a tongue-scaper make? add a year to your life? I doubt it.
Just use a mouth/gum wash and a normal toothbrush and floss your teeth daily. If you need to clean your tongue properly, i guess you should buy a tool for this purpose only. See my link i have found for you! I still think it's a rip-off but it's your money!
good luck!

In concept, this is an important thing. How it plays out with individual toothbrushes is unknown. I generally use the bristles to brush my tongue when I need it.

Just brush your tongue with a regular toothbrush going as far back as you can without gagging. It is important to do because it cleans off all the bacteria hiding in the nooks and crannies. You'll also taste better because you taste buds are freshly scrubbed.

I think tongue-scrapers are a great idea. The human race has survived for only a few thousand years and there are signs we are going to die out because we have never used tongue-scrapers.
Thank goodness that the toothbrush manufacturers have created something to help us survive for a while longer.
What they have created is a market for a higher profit margin toothbrush.
I ask you.

No way, brilliant idea.
If you are a bit hard up, you can save the debris you scrape from your tongue and after about a month you'll have enough for a tasty snack.
In my case this snack is mildly hallucinogenic

Let us be frank about this. It is a stupid idea. A marketing ploy. Another reason to have their brand name splashed across our screens. Who buys a toothbrush to scrape their tongues? Just plain stupid.......
