I have met both good people and not so good ones on here. They have to earn my trust over time.

What level of trust?

I trust that either a human or a good AI program is corresponding with me.

In the first place, you don't "meet people" online, you read notes and write notes.

If I locked you in a room and let you pass notes to a person locked in another room, then would that be enough information to know whether you could trust the other person?

You cannot trust just about anybody.

Be careful trusting people on line because:
1) It is quite possible to pretend to be someone else on line than in the real world.
2) Its easy to trick someone on line as you can hide behind the computer without revealing your identity.

There are some genuine people too on line. They will just want to be friends, be quite open with you about their identity, and will never ask you for money or any gifts.

You got to have a keen sense of judgment to know if the person you are chatting with is trustworthy or not.

If you do decode to meet someone you met on line you should first satisfy yourself as to his identity, his address, phone numbers and most importantly references. Never meet a person you met on line at a desolate place. Ask him to meet you where there are a lot of people you know.

I'm new to this so can only go by my nephews experiences.he meets most of his boyfriends on line, some have been good but most not what they seem.he is ever the optimist.my own view is that once you establish a rapport with someone on line then there has to be a little bit of trust.don't know if i'd have the courage to meet anyone though.will just have to hug the computer instead!!!

I am a very trustworthy person, but whether you meet them online or on the street you need to get know them before you trust them completly

yes especially if i meet them in a well recommended website. some websites really have shady profiles that you really can't help but be careful when giving out personal information. i guess it all boils down to your better judgement. i've been dating online for three years now and it never hurts to be picky on the sites you choose to register. i think webdate dot com and wealthymen dot com are pretty good sites which are psycho-free. cute people too. :-)

I met my wife online

you have to be cautious, ask lots of questions, meet (for the woman's benefit) in a place where there are others, and have a 3rd party who does not make themselves known to your date who follows you around the first time out

Some, yes, but most, no. It depends really on how they treat you. I'm not an idiot and can usually spot a liar a mile away. But it helps to play the blonde airhead role at first to feel them out~
