Mary was supposedly impregnated by the Holy Spirit of the Christian faith doctrine. An angel came to her and told her that she would bare the Son of God and she wanted to know how this could happen as she had not been with any man.
He informed her that it would not be a child of man and then she agreed to this saying, *I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done unto me as He wills.* The Holy Spirit then impregnated her and she bore Jesus who is believed to be God's Son.
After this birth in Catholic dogma she had no other children and therefore remained a virgin until her ascension to Heaven.
In other Chirstian denominations she did go on to have more but that still does not alter the fact that Jesus was a virgin birth.
Another thing that is often misunderstood in this faith is the Immaculate Conception. People tend to think it refers to Jesus' conception and it does not.
Anne, Mary's mother was prepared by God to receive a child born without original sin. So Mary herself is the Immaculate Conception.
Hope this helps you out there fella.
Even now there can be virgin births as we all know. If the sperm is deposited close enough to the vaginal opening it can penetrate and even make it to the fallopian tubes where it could possibly fertilize an egg if there was one.

The Immaculate Conception has to do with Mary's conception...not Jesus'. The Immaculate Conception means that Mary was conceived in her mother's womb without original sin.
As for her being a virgin, Mary was made pregnant with Jesus through the action of the Holy Spirit, not by the action of her husband Joseph (or any other man.)

There is no proof in the bible that she was a virgin, in fact there is evidence to say that when the Christians had translated the passage from Isaiah, The original text did not employ the Hebrew word for virgin 'betulah' it used the word 'almah' a young woman. The original Hebrew passage had predicted that a young woman, not a virgin, would conceive and give birth to the Messiah.
So your answer is don't believe what is written by man in a book called the bible, as much of it is wrong, and can be proved to be incorrect from the original Hebrew writings

Stick with your questions! Question everything and come up with your own conclusions! Not just what people tell you.
Last I checked Tab A + Slot B, (Repeat)... = Kid.
Apparently Mary and Joseph didn't, but they still had Jesus.
Thou shall not covent thy neighbors wife... Even God doesn't follow his own commandments..
If I was Joseph, I'd be pissed! I find it hard to believe during that time in history, Mary would be able to bring a child to term whilst being chastised for having a child with someone other than her husband. If she did, that child and Mary would have been outcasts. There wouldn't have been any Wise Men with gifts to bring Par-rum-pum-pum-bum.

The Virgin Mary is not only called a virgin: it's an important part of the religion that she actually is a virgin. According to believers, Jesus was a miracle from God. Mary never had sex.

She is called the Virgin Mary because she never had any relations with a man. She had a baby because she got conceived by the Holy Spirit.
It's like a miracle.

Its the theory of "Immaculate Conception." Basically, it goes like this, girl gets pregnant and can't admit to having sex, so she makes up a story about a bright white light and angels singing. Parents buy the story and, "Shazaam!" you've got a ready-made religion.
Girls, don't try using that story in 2006. It won't work, we have science now.

Virgin on the ridiculous? Are we to believe that Joseph was also that innocent? An Angel called Buster Hymen came along and told her that her stupid husband would believe her if she gave him a good story. If i told your girl, or any other girl, that I was an Angel, would she believe me? Or would she phone the police and tell them that a weirdo was in the house? The Devil told me that he hates God, he said, "Why the hell do people think I would punish them for being bad?"

That's the point, she had a baby, but she did not have sex before that. At least so the story goes. She did have a few other children afterwards, but it's the immaculate conception that makes her a virgin mother.
