Just be yourself. Look to see who the leader of the clique is and how they treat others. Is that someone you want to emulate? If you don't like the way the leader treates others, then don't join it.
Find people like yourself. After high school and some in colleges, you don't need to worry about cliques.

Understand that cliques are only bad if you perceive it to be. Join a clique (gads, I hate cliques, thay are one of the things that make high school hell) with people that have similar intersts to yours. Don't worry if it is not perceived at popular, popular people are almost always putting on a show to impress others. Just be yourself. It's interesting that people in the popular cliques usually don't amount to much once they are out of school and their all-important clique dissolves. The unpopular cliques usually contain the people that go on to really make something of their lives.

join the wrong clique then you won't fear it anymore.

Ok really who cares if you are in "the wrong clique" you won't 6 months after you graduate. As long as you have fun with your clique and like being around them who cares if they are the popular kids or not.

I was not in the popular click in high school but i still had a blast.Because my freinds enjoied the same stuff I did. I still am in touch with alot of my freinds from high school and we are still freinds. I mean ok your may not be the "cool kids" but if you have freinds you like to hang out with outside of school who cares?

Every clique is the wrong clique. They only cling together to hide in each others' insecurities. Avoid them like...well...cliques.

Start one of your own. Yes. Find other people who have the same interest as you. Organise outings, you can get cheaper prices on group bookings for example, You will be surprised how many people will join you when you arrange things, start with one other, then two etc.
If you are a good person other people will want to be friends with you. Don't be shy. Go for it.

Don't join any cliques, they are in and of themselves excluding and not healthy to self development
