If you refuse a religion/deity/view for a reason, then why don't you apply that same reasoning to your religion/diety/view.

I see religious people amongst eachother everynow and then and have to wonder why don't they ask theirself the same questions they were asking the person of the other religion?

I understand what you are saying and I do this sometimes. When people ask me if I would change religions if I found out that I was terminally ill, I ask them the same question.

But am a polytheist and I don't believe that there is only one "true" way to worship. I don't deny other people's deities even though I may not worship them. And my ways are simply what works for me. YMMV

How do you know what goes on inside people's heads?

Your question implies that if you think about any religion long enough, you will find a reason as to why you shouldn't believe in it.
It also implies that people don't question their own faith which is not true either.

I used to be Catholic and I put that religion under the microscope. Once I realized that I didn't agree with what it taught, I found a faith that had the answers I was looking for.

Everyone who is a Christian had to question their world belief at one time or another. By definition, you cannot serve God, unless you considered it first. Everyone who is a Christian had to convert to it. Even those born in Christian homes are still brought up to understand that eventually, you will have to make a decision to serve God or not. It is probably one of the few religions that you cannot be born into because your parents are Christians.

There are probably some people who don't question certain things as you say. But, I know for a fact that I did and I know plenty of others who did as well. So, your question ought to be towards an individual and not a group of people if you know someone who hasn't questioned their faith.

People tend to believe that their way is the right way. Its very hard to change someone's opinion about anything. Even simple things such as how good a book or song is can turn into an argument...so when it gets to religious beliefs things can get very heated.

I'm not religious and I see your point and agree with you. But unfortunately, people aren't very open-minded when it comes to their religious views.

because they are so up themselves they cant possibly see themselves being wrong!

i think people should just find their own religion and not follow something out of a book or whatever people want them to believe.

Religious people do not come to their beliefs through logic. They apply faith and groundless hope to come to their conclusions.

Thus, they instantly reject other religions based on that same faith and hope.

OK...I'll try your suggestion.

"Why doesn't the Catholic Church teach that the Eucharist is the Real Presence of Jesus Christ?"

Wait a minute...they do!

belief is what makes most people tolerate lots of horrible things... its like their spirtual backbone... no1 will want to have it questioned lest it should turn out to be invalid.
