If you've read at all about the immigration issue, one interesting aspect is all the vague verbiage being used regarding people that are in the US illegally, lots of different descriptors, ranging from 'undocumented workers' to 'foreign non-residents'. Once upon a time, it was 'illegal aliens'. Why the PC double-speak?

Society has over the years started using "soft language" so that it is harder to offend people. But the reality of it, is that its the same word put into a longer sophisiticated word. The point is, is that the illegals are here illegally and should be said so without being so offensive. Murder is illegal and yet no one has a hard time with that word. Next thing you know it will someday be called "purposely terminated."

We Americans sometimes forget that we have a very good life here and that other people need help. Devote Christians turn into Devils when it comes to dealing with immigration issues. Did Christ carry a "Green Card" through the Holy Land?

Xenophobia always wears the mask of patriotism. When U.S. political and economic policy both in this country and around the world comes to reflect the true core values of our society, then and only then can we say that we live in a free and open society. The solution to the immigration problem is simple: (1) allow people to become US citizens by reasonable means and they won't need to break laws to find a way to feed themselves and their families; (2) export not our jobs, but our ideas and methods for creating economic growth in countries that need our wisdom and counsel.

Would you hesitate for even one moment to break the law if the life of your family depended on your doing just that?

all government lands are public. they are as free as anyone to walk these lands as a free individual. their presence within the borders isnt illegal. not being a documented/taxed citizen isnt illegal. illegal comes from use of social services or on private lands uninvited without 'documented permission'. the only way to legally close the borders is to privatize everything along the border.

If we call them "illegal" it makes it sound like the Government isn't doing their job or enforcing laws.

Oh, wait, they aren't.
