God doesn't want anyone to perish. John 3:16 comes to mind, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."
God loves us so much that he gave us the radical freedom to have free will and choice that if you don't accept Him Jesus Christ, you can spend eternity without God and that is hell. Hell is typically said of a place devoid of God and all his creation. Yet God always calls us back to Him with a gentle voice. One thing I don't appreciate is the hell and brimstone teachers and those who sugar coat Christianity that it is all love. You must appreciate Christianity in all its fullness a balance of all extremes.
