My best friends ex b/f (they broke up 3 months ago & are trying 2 be friends) said he really likes me & tried 2 kiss me last night at her birthday party! I thought it was really inapropriate. Should I tell her? I don't feel right hiding things from her, but at the same time I'm not sure it would achieve anything by telling her? What do you think

I was going to tell her last night but I didn't want to ruin her birthday, I think I should tell her but my family think it was a "non-event" so dont cause anything issues, but I didn't do anything wrong & she deserves to know...

Also if i do tell her, would it be best to tell her when I see her later in the week, or sooner rather than later on the phone?? What's better, sooner, or in person?

If you didn't let him kiss you, I would tell her. It 'looks' bad if you didn't do anything, but she finds out he made a move on you from someone else. If he 'did' infact kiss you and you kissed him back... well... she's going to have to find out somehow. Eventually. Might as well be from you?

Update: I'm assuming that when you said you've done nothing wrong that you mean you didn't kiss him. Good to hear. In that case I think you should tell her. As far as over the phone or in person, it doesn't matter. I would do it soon though. I don't mean call her up right this very second and tell her, but I wouldn't put it off too long. You've done nothing wrong. Don't let her get any other ideas in her head because you put off telling her.

So it means that you like the guy too huh?

In my opinion, no not yet. But if you and the guy will keep that secret fling goin on, your friend will still find out one way or another. Find the right time to tell her that her ex is hitting on you; she's your friend right? But if you're really not into the guy or if you think that chances would be hard if you'll be with this person because of your guilt or whatever, then you should be prepared for the circumstances ahead. You can find another man but a real friend is hard to find.

Just tell her! In the right time... Who knows? Maybe it's okay to her after all.

Good luck!

Yes, tell her! If they are broken up that will give her another reason to realize what a jerk he really is!

I think you should tell her.
It's only fair, and if they are really over she shouldn't really mind!
and if you like him and he likes you it is obvious he is over her and she should just step aside.

mmm... i don't prefer telling him... just ignore the other one and never talk to him again as long as you're committed right now.
