I gave birth on March 27 and I have breastfed my little girl exclusively until July 27. She now is eating a few solids. I just started my period on August 8th. They say that if you breastfeed exclusively at least six times a day you will not resume your period. I think every woman varies though. A good website to check out for a more detailed answer is babycenter.com. They have tons of very useful information.

It basically depends on how quick your body recooperates after having the baby. You will bleed after you have the baby for about 6 wks at the most. It could take around 6 more weeks for your body to get back into operation to have a period. If you breastfeed you stand the chance of not having a period until you quit breastfeeding. Your body will register that you are still pregnant because you are producing milk.

If this is your first baby then I think your period might start a little bit late expecially if you are breast feeding. Because the menstruatioin is just adjusting back to its normal cycle. And it should come and go. I mean like it comes one day and stop the other day, and then comes again after few more days until probably six months after giving birth, it will comes as usual.
If this your second or third, then it will be about six to 12 months.

well you bleed after you have the baby for the most part 6 weeks. After that it just depends on if you are breastfeeding or not most breastfeeding mothers don't have a period for a long time. formula ones do really soon.
