Try Charlotte Joko Beck Love and Work Every Day Zen - a lovely simple book that is also very profound and inspirational.

Check out the link below - a collection of Zen Stories.

Alan Watts - The Way of Zen is a good introduction,

Zen isn't the only form of buddhism ofcourse but they all have their roots in the teachings of the Buddha, I prefer the Zen school thats all. You are beginning the only journey worth taking - the journey to your true self. Every day - inch by inch, do not judge but be very watchful and aware, you are already enlightened. Peace.

There are two methods of practicing Buddhism

1. Theravada
2. Mahayana

The base and the teaching are almost the same but the practices are different.

Join Daya group of Yahoo groups - have some good scholars.

http://www.metta.lk/ is a Theravada site - I prefer Theravada to Mahayana !

I will teach you.

Get really fat, wear robes, keep a vaccant look in your eyes constantly, and make lots of vaccuous statements that have the appearance of wisdom and involve a lot of asceticism but that uncover no real useful kinds of knowledge about the world.
