That fluttering feeling is called a heart palpitation. I've had them for years. Sometimes they are caused by a heart murmur---which is having a valve in your heart that doesn't quite close all the way. Millions of people have this, and in the vast majority of cases, it poses no risk to your health.
The flutters can feel scary, especially when you don't know what they are. This fear/anxiety sometimes causes you to have even more of them---grrr.
Also, increase consumption of stimulants can cause these palpitations---have you been drinking more coffee, tea, or colas recently? Have you been taking any diet pills? Many of them are just full of stimulants.
As long as you are not feeling faint along with the flutters, you likely have nothing to worry about. Next time you go to the doctor, mention it to her/him, but likely you are just fine.

Once I got heart palpitations non stop for a week... I must say it was very distressing to me as, like you, I was worried my heart was having problems... Initially I was given some tablets by my Dr to slow the heartbeat down, which they did, although the palpitations continued and with a heart rate of only 40 beats a minute I then felt tired and breathless and really started to worry about my state of health.
I then went to hospital where they performed a number of tests on me including an ultrasound of the heart it's self... finally I was reassured that my heart was actually very strong and healthy and these palpitations I was experiencing were nothing for me to worry about and the specialist informed me that a large number of people experience them... After the week my heart beat returned to normal finally, though I had cut out the tablets after the first few days of taking them and felt heaps better just for that!
Now when I get them I don't worry at all.
This is not to say that every one is the same however... there are some conditions where it may be a problem and for your own peace of mind, if it is a very regular thing, you might want to get thoroughly checked out as I did.
Also, too much caffeine can contribute to heart flutters, so if you drink a lot of cola or coffee, try cutting it out or back.
May you soon be stress free of this problem as I am.

probably not a heart attack but you should see your doctor. mine did the same thing and i was diagnosed with tachycardia. anxiety attacks can also cause the same sensation. your doctor will be able to tell you what it is and what to do about it.
as for your other question, yes, we're all going to die eventually, but i doubt this fluttering in your chest will be the cause of your demise.

It could be a heart murmur. See a doctor for further evaluation.
It's not a heart attack, since there is no pain.
But, yes, you are going to die -- eventually! -- as will we all.

No...usually heart attacks are debilitating and I doubt you'd be typing questions here on Yahoo! if so.
