Camera came from the word "camera obsecura" means black box. As the first cameras were a black box with a small hole in the front so that light could enter. These were known as the pinhole camera.
Today there are different types of cameras. But the basics are same. Let light in(image) > capture the light( image). Thats it....
Mainly there are two types of cameras:
Digital cameras and Film Camera
Digital cameras have a CCD which senses the light and stores it in pixels.
Film cameras uses the chemical Film that lights up and captures the image.
There are many professional photographers. Some like the old Yashica 2000s and Some like EOS 10 D. Both ways, its the art , imagination, creativity and experience that makes the difference.
