Hi, it really depends on the bone structure. I used to be in the understanding, that the perfect weight is 100 at five feet, and five lbs for every pound over, so that would be about 120...but again, it depends on your bone structure, and muscle mass also. I would be concerned if it was 140..but, as I said, it just all depends. Your little sister sounds perfect to me.

No, that is not overweight. My doctor told me that a good scale for determining was to start with a 100 lb. for the first 5 feet, then add 5 pounds for every inch after that. If you're 5'4'' then 120 is about the smallest you could be.

i don't think of one hundred twenty five pounds is obese for a 5 foot 3 inch 13 year previous in any respect! maybe she's basing it on BMI for the reason that BMI isn't precise-it does not calculate leanness or fatness, muscle tissues and bone density. the main significantly obtainable attempt and somewhat precise is the skinfold attempt which measures folds of epidermis at specific aspects of a man or woman's physique. the main precise attempt yet maximum costly and unavailable is the Hydrostatic weighing which will properly make certain physique composition-"a man or woman weighed below water to make certain bone density: the extra bone and muscle the guy has, the extra particularly the guy sinks. because of fact fat floats, the extra fat a man or woman has, the less the guy weighs below water". the incontrovertible fact that she is barely 13, she has till 18 to end growing to be so she does not could desire to rigidity approximately if she's fat or not. (i grew to become into overweight while i grew to become into in 8th grade and that i grew to become into 4 feet 8 inches, yet when I grew 2 inches here year and then yet another inch the subsequent year, I grew to grow to be so skinny-i grew to become into epidermis and bones very promptly in any respect.)

the weight is fine for her height. and if her bone stucture is between medium to large, she is not considered overweight. bone density and body mass contributes weight to the body. she's still young to worry for her weight though. all she have to do is to eat moderately and be involve in physical activities (sports, dancing, walking etc.) to develop a fit, toned body, and healthy heart.

If she has a small frame 114 - 127 is ideal weight.
Medium frame - 124 - 138
Large frame - 134 - 151

As long as she is healthy she should be happy with her size.
