realistically about 8.5-9. hrs. The Internet mapping services do a fair to good job with actual distances but their point to point times tend to be unrealistic.
According to mapquest i can drive the 2800 miles from LAX to JFK in 42 hrs. Really. The mistake that map quest others of their kind make is that they substitute mean speed for average speed
As a rule the actual over the road speed averages 50 -55 mph.. This takes in weather traffic gas the usual stuff.

where in the Grand Canyon ???It runs through several states..L.A. to Vegas 4 and a half hours. Vegas to the Hoover Dam--an hour and a half if your moving right a long.....

for the south rim take the 15 to the 40 at barstow to sixty 4 at williams and head north ,will develop right into one hundred and eighty to canyon village (490 miles app),for the west rim take the 15 north in the route of vegas and keep on with the indicators for the west rim (450 miles app)

idk, when we went, we were gonna fly, but all they had were crappy seats, so we decided to take the train. bad experiace! it took up overnight on the train. i'm sure it would be fun to drive. i would say probably 7-8 hrs
