1. Acyclovir administered within 24 hours of onset of symptoms is effective in decreasing the duration and severity of chicken pox.
2. If you haven't been exposed to chicken pox, immunisation would be a good idea with the chicken pox vaccine.
3. If you haven't been vaccinated but have been exposed to a case and would like to prevent getting it, then Varicella Zoster Immuno Globulin (VZIG) can provide temporary protection. It is expensive and generally indicated only in individuals who are immunodeficient.
4. Remember that Aspirin is contraindicated in Chicken Pox, as it can cause something known as Reye's syndrom. If you need to use something for fever, use medication which does not contain aspirin.

Well, I don't know where you are but if you have a guava tree nearby, the best would be to chop up a few clean leaves and boil them in a liter of water. Use this to take a bath in for the next couple of days and stay away from seafood like shrimps, crabs and deep sea fish, stay away from eggs, beans and chicken as well - they will make the chicken pox flare up. Don't scratch the bumps too. Normally it takes 2 weeks to completely heal but if you're fit and healthy, it takes a week. It took me a week to recover without scars.

there is no immediate cure for chicken pox. right now there is a vaccine you can take which will decrease your chances of contracting but its not 100%. your best bet is to invest in some calamine lotion and hydrocortisone cream. ive also heard oatmeal works good. just immerse your pox in one of the two and it should take some of the bite outta the itch. good luck

there isn't one. the immune system resolves the problem by itself. following infection and resolution, the individual will be immune for the rest of their life.
the virus however will remain in the body (nervous sytem). the virus may mutate in some cases and give rise to other lesions as in the case of shingles. this is usu. associated with stress.

There isn't one. Only time can cure it. It's best to PREVENT rather than wait to get it.

I don't know about the cure, but calmine lotion (or any lotion you put on mosquito bites) definately minimizes the itching!!
Good luck!
