Milwaukee's Best, nicknamed "The Beast" is one of the brand names - stemmed from the idea of the original brewers to have a beer with a flavor for a cheap price back in the late 1800s/early 1900s before prohibition. The A. Gettelman Brewing Company was the founder of the Milwaukee's Best brand. In 1971 the Miller Brewing Co. bought the A. Gettelman brewery and continues to make "The Beast" as a tribute to the founders and being it is still one of the best selling brands for a cheap price!

Milwaukee's Best does leave a little to be desired, try OLD MILWAUKEE which judged on appearance alone looks worse, but tastes much better. I agree with the other person who suggested a regional micro-brew, as they can be purchased directly at the brewery in many cases which is the best when getting the freshest beer possible!! When playing drinking games or just trying to drink all day long like at the beach, camping or fishing, Michelob Light is my first choice.

It IS Milwaulkee's best - All mass produced beer in North America (including Coors) SUX - try a micro beer or local brew pub

For the same reason you don't want to buy a car from someone named "Honest John". Coors is crap too. I would drink my own pee before I allowed a Coors product (including Molson) to pass my lips.

Drank some of it years ago. You might as well drink a soda.
I like a beer with some kick to it like Colt 45 or Heineken.

we always called it "the beast" in college, because it tastes like sh*t but gets you wrecked really fast.
...and it's cheap
