For the same reason other Christians celebrate on December 25 even though that wasn't the day he was born. It was a Pagan holiday and they wanted to convert Pagans to Christianity. They thought it would be easier for them to convert if they put Christian holidays on the same day as Pagan holidays.

i have no idea....theyre just followers.....there just jelious cause our holiday is way cooler than theirs....they probably just use it for another day off of work...lol
