Its in the dogs genes to dig, and you are trying to fight a thousand years of evolution by trying to force it not to. I read an article once about Malmutes once and the author said he could not stop his from digging- only redirect it in a less damaging area by making the dog a sand box that he was allowed to dig in and hiding toys and bones in it. This is why it is very important to research your breed before you get a dog to see if it has any proclivities you can not live with.

One is to purchase a marvel Collar frequently used to offer up a barking dogs from barking all time whenever you notice her dig interior the backyard CLAP your palms she will quickly associate SHOCKS with digging yet another older technique taught to me with the aid of a dogs breeder for Disney interior the early 70's is Bundling you choose 2 small towels like hand towels or dish towels and a roll of duct tape every time she starts off to dig you wrap the two legs with towels and duct tape them at the same time Punishment time would desire to be a minimum of 30 minutes turn her loose with the aid of removing the bundling she starts off to dig kit her decrease back up It takes some week with obdurate canines some learn speedy

Dogs do this as an energy release! Take your dog for walks everyday and wear him out! He will stop digging. If you put their feces in the hole and cover it up they will not dig in that spot again. Boredom also causes them to do this and once again the solution is excercising your dog every day.

Try positive reinforcment, scold the dog for digging, give it a treat. The dog will associate not digging with receiving a treat.

Fox urine will repel most if not all dogs from where ever it's put down. You can pick it up (granulated) from places like petsmart or sometimes from a local gardening supply shop. The only drawback is that it only lasts until it rains. The scent isn't too bad.

bviously you leave it outside all the time.. The dog is friggen bored for crying out loud! Take him for at least 2 walks/runs a day.. Allow him in the house with you..Play with him..
Make an area for him with BIG toys, like hanging knotted ropes, tractor tires, use your imagination.. But stop leaving him out there alone all the damn time

Put the dogs own poop in the existing holes - they will not dig there anymore.
Perhaps she is trying to keep cool?

Disciplining wont work! You need to try to figure out WHY she is digging... Is she Hot and looking for a cool place to lay down? (a kiddie pool) Is she stressed out and trying to calm her self down? (more exercise) Or (my fave) Is it just FUN? ... try giving a corner of the yard that she is allowed to dig in...rough up the dirt...bury toys and treats...

You can try holding it's head in the hole and put dirt on it's head and telling it this is a NO......it's the only thing that worked for my dog...It sounds mean but it worked for me
