I am a Lebanese Christian and believe me we only care now about a cease-fire. Ok Hezbollah did not have to do that, but as days pass by, we are now sure that Israel had it planned for a long time. This is not a war against Hezbollah I assure you. This is a war to destroy Lebanon, and its economy.

When the war started couple of weeks ago,
all Christians were mad of Hezbollah for putting them into this.
Now, after Christians have seen the immense Israeli hatred for Lebanon (for ALL Lebanon, ALL regions, not just Hezbollah)
Christians have started to believe that among these two evils (i.e., Israel and Hezbollah), Hezbollah is still better as it is fighting for getting back the Lebanese prisoners in Israel, and to free the occupied Lebanese territory of Shebba Farms.

They are deluded who think that the minority of Christians in Lebanon will be an obstacle for Hezbollah,or they are particularly not happy of their cause. OK, the war is harsh on every one but, it is the very first time since the civil war that happened during the 70's that Christians, Muslims, and Druze stand-fast together and unit under one thought ; that their country is under attack, and being destroyed, by one enemy, and supporting Hezbollah is their only way out of this mess, because sooner or later, Israel will realize that this insanity has to stop...

Well, i think ur media is hiding lot of facts from u. when the war began those who were against Hizbollah Christians for example had those thoughts that Hizbollah was the cause of the war, but after the massive destruction, the killing of the innocent citizens and the information that Hizbollah had that Israel was doing the war anyway sometime in September, believe me those who were against now pray for Hizbollah's leader Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah. Israel isn't doing all this for the two soldiers, Israel is doing that to destroy Lebanon, do u know the total number of Hizbollah guerrillas is 36 while citizens killed r now about 1000 while in Israel soldiers who were killed are almost half the number of the total deaths recorded in Israel. You people in the west don't understand what's going on there, you know that this war made all Lebanese from all religions unite. Polls show that 92% of Lebanese r with Hizbollah, a percentage you can never get in Lebanon. I agree some people r still against the war but they r a very small minority.
Plz those who don't know anything about lebanon except from books and media i wish they don't answer coz they don't know, all of us r with Hizbollah coz they're defending us!!!

Lebanese Christians have been emigrating to (and assimilating in) the West for years . . . such that there hasn't been a census taken in Lebanon for fear that it would upset the famous political compromise.
The Maronites have been traditional friends of Israel. However, it is dangerous to speak out in Lebanon against Hezbollah for the same reason that it was (I guess it isn't anymore) dangerous in some parts of America to say anything against George W. Bush's war. Christian Lebanese, like Christian Palestinians, live by suffrance (think of Hana Ashrawi) and it skews their opinions, and even more their public utterances.
You might read Robert Fisk's column in today's Independent (linked below). He's no friend of Israel, as you can tell by his tone, but he does have the pulse of the educated elite in Lebanon, Maronite, Druze, Christian.
It's all very sad. We had been friends at one time with Dany Chamoun's wife (and her former husband). Lebanon was once a precious gem. Now it is caught up in a regional conflict without end, a pawn of others.

Starting The day before yesterday, Israel started bombing and attacking the North, in which Christians are.. They bombarded a center for the children by mistake.. and apologized on the TV.
What do the Christians in Lebanon think? Well.. they are the ones in the worst condition.. the Muslims Extremist do not like them.. Israel do not care about them.. the Lebanese governiment is in LALA land, and nobody is helping them..

you appear to be attempting to cajole Christians that they could desire to help the Arabs in this conflict because of fact Israel is killing Christians too. this would possibly not sway Christians on your factor. individuals won't ever forget 9/11 on which day Arab terrorists supported by ability of an Arab chief (Bin encumbered), working from an Arab united states of america (Afganistan), with help from many Arabs in the process the middle-East attacked the USA of a. Many Arabs cheered this experience after the fact. precise or incorrect, what's occurring now's the war ON TERROR that Osama Bin encumbered began. i'm not asserting who's suitable or who's faulty - i'm in basic terms asserting that Bin encumbered made an extremely extreme and effective enemy on 9/11 and Israel is a unswerving better half to the US in the war ON TERROR.
