Pride is lethal to the walk of faith because you can start to believe that you don't need God that much. Thats got to be a scary place if one approaches that mindset. We ALWAYS need God and forever will. Hes amazing and we should try to reflect that truth in our everyday lives.

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the lord hate: Ye seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among bretheren."
Proverbs 21:4 " An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
Read 1 Samuel 2:3, Romans 12:3, Psalm 119:69-70, Proverbs 21:4, 1 John 2:16, Proverbs 29:23 Well there's allot more that may answer your question about what the Bible says about pride.

Debra M,
Hello again.
"Why is pride so lethal to the spiritual life?"
Because it takes an act of placing your eyes on yourself rather than God. But it also means that you are not repentant about your ways, you've become backsliden while lifting yourself up above what is true.

"How does pride seduce us?"
It offers the individual a false security. False imaginations. It basically says, " I'm going to do it my way." By doing so you can lose your sight on God. And the fall will come for those God wants. Those that He doesn't want, he allows them to continue with a reprobate mind. That is; he continues in a way that brings damnation.

Pride is lethal as it
Points Right Into the Devil's Eden
which is our very being and when we give into it we have been poisoned by the bite of the asp and no longer can truly see and think clearly of where our focus should be, as it has become a focus on me and how I've been cheated of what's rightfully mine, when all along, it's been in God's design, that all is mine, as long as I am His - and God will keep my pride so that it is not sin.

Thank you for the chance to be artistic - I love to write and this just flew off the top of my head - it may not be grand, but it's from the heart.

Pride seduces people into believing they are God. Have you noticed how many people offer their personal opinions but phrase them to imply God is speaking?

Preachers are some of the worst about blaspheming the holy spirit. And, it is their pride that causes them to do so.

I am an atheist, but I used to be a Christian. And, studied that very issue. Amazing how many people commit (apparent) sins and don't even realize they are doing so. All because of their pride.

Anyone who says, "God said . . ." has been seduced into sin by his pride.

It's simple. Pride and arrogance A) Makes us think we are perfect and/or B) We think we are better than God and/or C) We don't think we need God. This is why the Lord detests pride and arrogance. No man is perfect, better than God and we always need Him. Christ was a humble servant, not an arrogant or proud leader and we are called to be Christ-like. Pride goeth before the fall and the Lord detests a haughty spirit...

If you our proud you can not humble yourself to The LORD, You cannot approach Him, and beg for your forgiveness when needed.

Aswell, as pride develops in haughtiness(the feeling that others are worthless, and should praise you)and that is not how The LORD wants it to be. The LORD is perhaps,a jealous LORD,and wants your attention on Him, first and foremost.

It makes no sense at all to worship what The all powerful, merciful, praise-worthy LORD has created, over Himself.

I'm an atheist, who was raised catholic. I wondered this myself when I was younger, and came to the following conclusion: Pride is so dangers to faith, because you're not acknowledging your god of choice for your fortune and success, rather you're taking the credit for your own hard work, and inner strength.

Were getting living human kind all into troubles with our creator on planet earth.
With our creator coming after them with extra ordinary power of earth, wind, fire, water and plagues on planet earth.
