You can make twice baked potatoes ahead of time, leave them on a baking sheet, cover with clear wrap and refrigerate until time to bake them.

They'll be taking up space in the fridge, and you should have them in there for less than 6 hours.

Good luck with the party! - Stuart

Don't wrap them in foil, they will steam instead of bake and get soggy, and they take longer to cook that way. Oil the skin or butter it to keep it from getting too crusty. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees for about an hour. It's not really necessary to pierce them before baking. It can be hard to tell if it's really done all the way through. I hate it when potatoes are still hard in the center. The best thing to do is take the temperature--it's done when it's 210 in the center. As soon as they come out of the oven, cut an X in them and squeeze to open them up.

Well with twice baked potatoes all you do just before serving is put them in the oven to get hot and melt the cheese, so if you had them all ready before hand in the fridge, you could take them out just before serving and put them in the oven. The time consuming part is baking the potatoes and mixing with butter, sour cream, chives, stuffing back in the shells and put cheese on top. I also sprinkle with bacon bits. Then you put back in oven and bake. Do this last part just before serving and the first part you can do the day before if you want. Hope this helps.

Yes. It is very simple. Prepare them ahead of time and cover them with plastic wrap (not aluminum foil...) and keep in the fridge until ready to bake. Bake on 350 degrees for 30 minutes covered, then ten minutes uncovered.
Top with bacon bits and chives. Serve with sour cream on the side. Yummy.

I think those are better fresh out of the oven, but I suppose you could reheat them if you want to make them ahead of time.

what comes to mind is that they might darken...and be soggy...no microwaving....i wouldn't take any chances...those would be something your guests will love...happy cooking!
