you know the one with the little girl that hates broccoli and chicken - well, now my little girl says she hates both too, allthough she eats it don't you think the commercial was irresponsible - its one thing if the child needs it but why encourage them to hate certain foods - advertisers know how powerful their commercials are!!

she is not picky - just repeating the words spoken in the commercial, as I said she still eats broccoli and chicken

I'm upset by the whole Pediasure product. It was originally developed for children that needed it for TOTAL nutrition (my daughter had a feeding tube and relied on Pediasure for her nutrition) It is VERY high in calories as well as the vitamins they advertise. A kid that starts drinking that stuff as a SUPPLEMENT is going to be obese real quick. Picky kids are in no danger from malnutrition, they tend to get their vitamins from other sources then the "carrots" they won't eat at dinner....I think it's sending a wrong message to parents.

Kids are big sponges that like to repeat what they hear. My son tried the whole "I don't like chicken thing." Up until that commercial he never complained about disliking any food. He still eats chicken I just have to tell him that it is "meat" otherwise he will turn his nose up to it. I think the people that put commercials out need to be aware that children are going to see it and they will repeat what is said. It's nothing but incompetence.

I 100% agree with you. Yes that commercial really bothers me. There was a time when that pediasure crap was only used for tube feedings in hospitals. Now its a ******* meal choice? It is very irresponsible to teach young children to avoid real food and to use a can of synthetic nutrition in its place.
When I was a kid, what was for dinner was what was for dinner. If we didn't eat it we went hungry.

Yes, I was. There are enough self esteem issues for girls as it is and I think this is telling young impressionable girls that you don't have to eat right because there is a drink that will fix it.

try turning off the t.v if she is so easily effected by it. Ads tell her to buy things...does she nag for these thing and so you go out and buy it? Ads are there to sell a product if you don't like the effect on her simply turn it off

I usually tell me kids when they eat tuna, that its chicken, they like it anyways and when I bring up tuna they are like ewwww thats gross. But they love to eat it anyways. Lil trick to help you with it, try to say its something else.

It's not really their fault if your kid is picky
