A Joke:
Outlawing gay marriage is an important first step to outlawing marriage all together! Seriously think of all the miserable people that would help!
Another joke:...
Marriage has already been "Institutionalized" and has a 50% failure rate, what are we protecting here? Frankly I think we should let the Gay's have it and power to them!
And finally:
I understand the Christian concept of marriage. But if I ever had the ability to be born again I would probably choose some Muslim religion where I could have 100 wifes, scream "AKLIM SHALIM!!!" and they would actually shut up.
I think I've made my point. IBM has been allowing benefits for anyone you want to pay for since the late 70's. I'm all for taking care of those you love. Whether or not you should be allowed to marry men, women, sheep, cows, your jeep or whatever else seems to cheapen the concept a bit to me. But then I still believe in the fairy tail... That crap about gay people not being able to be good providers, parents, mentors is just mean B.S...

Love is love. It sees no color, religion, or sex. You cant help who you love. With the divorce rate for heterosexual couples being at around 50%, what right do they have to tell someone else that they cant get married. That its not "right". Right by who's standards. Believe, think and feel what you will. To each their own. But dont try to push your beliefs and **** on the world. At least half of marriages end in divorce, maybe if people got their heads out their asses and realized that we live in the 21st Century, The year 2006, not the year 1906, the world would be a better place. Its called evolution. There have always been gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual people, it was always just kept hidden. Now its in peoples faces. And they dont want to be accepting. Thats fine, but think about your children, what if your daughter came to you and said "Mom, dad, Im gay". Are you going to turn your back on them because "society" says its not ok? If so then you arent much of a parent. Societies view is pretty ****** up on most subjects, but I guess its all about fitting in isnt it? God created every Gay. Hetero, Bisexual, and Transsexual in HIS image...So shut the **** up and let them be happy, in love and married, just like you want to be.

No, I do not believe that gays or lesbians have the right to marry. When a group of people wants change or forces their views on a majority, that is wrong. Its actually pretty funny that this came up, again ! The two women in Massachusetts who were the original two lesbians that wanted to get married and fought for it - have even divorced and they are having huge problems with property and who gets what.
I dont agree with it, but I see civil unions becoming the norm and marriage being for everyone else. Just because your sexual preferences are differrent, dont throw them or force them on us to accept them. what you do in your house is your own business and its between you and sommeone else. Keep it that way. You dont see straight couples forceing their sexuality down homosexuals throats ! C'mon now, get off the bandwagon - grow up and please realize that a huge majority of Americans don't agree with your loud and obnoxious views.

Absolutely. Yes to all questions. To borrow your term, they "deserve" equal rights and equal protection under the law. I am a Christian, but I am also liberal. I believe this is an issue of separation of Church and State. Gay people deserve to be happy. Offering them equal rights and equal protection is only the beginning of reducing stigma and prejudice toward the population. This also extends to transgender and bisexual populations as well. And anyone who knows anyone that is gay knows that being homosexual is not a choice or a lifestyle, it is the way they came into this world. They should be accepted as they are.

yes, they are people too with rights just like every one else. and people try to use the excuse that the definition of marriage is between a man and a women and thats why they shouldn't be together.... okay so lets call it something else like "gayage" where the def is joining of the same sex and they'll get to give their personal belongings to the person they love when they die... its only fair. hatrid is a horrible thing.

Why not? Its their own human rights to do whatever they wish for. So long it doesn't affect the economy...Perhaps the insurance company can think of a new sets of policy for gays?Isn't it a good marketing idea?

Yes to everything. If a gay or lesbian couple love each other and want to marry, they should be able to, and also get all the benefits that married straight people do.
Why should my parents be able to marry when they had no business being married to each other in the first place and a gay couple who actually love each other can't? It makes no sense.

I think people should marry whoever they want to. If other people had a life then they wouldn't be worrying about other people's problems. Let people live their own lives. It's time to grow up people!!!! Let everybody be happy . That's what is important, not worrying about what other people think. If you want to marry the same sex then go for it and good luck.

No, the separation of church and state is only allowed to be applied when it personally benefits our elected representatives.
