sometimes honesty is a matter of perspective.
There are people who are honest to the nth degree, because they feel it is Right, no matter who is hurt by it.
Some people are only honest about what that they say, and won't respond with anything if they aren't sure how the answer will be taken, or if they feel guilty, or don't want to hurt some one with the truth.
Thare are even people that actually believe they are being honest even when they are telling an outrageous lie as long as there is some truth in it and it satifies their needs.
I believe the best thing is to be True to yourself. And true to what you believe in... Those who truly care will understand and you must hope that you are given the same respect in return...it's not always what you expect...Believe me ...I can attest to that! That's where forgiveness comes in to play..
Good luck

Yes, there are honest people out there---lots of them----there are also lots of dishonest people too and when we get burned a time or two, it appears that, that is the only type of people out there.
I've heard it said that there are verying degrees of honesty which is a statement that I personally do not like. I do believe however, that we each have some things that we do which from one perspective would be dishonest and from another prospective be honest. Consider a person who would never cheat another person in business but has no problem cheating on their taxes. Some people would never steal from another individual but have no problem stealing from the "company". Others may not be liars but tell their child to tell whomever is at the door that "mommy is not home".
Hope that this helps.

well... start with urself. if u feel that u are an honest person, that's awesome. be proud of it, and respect urself. if u have confidence that u are a good person, keep that in mind when u talk and meet new people; surround urself with positive, happy and respectful people, and distance urself from the negative, dishonest, lying and sneaky ones. think well of others, try not to judge until they prove themselves untrustworthy. but if they do something "bad", it has no reflection on u, there's no need to be truly disappointed because u did nothing wrong. u may be disappointed in that person, but don't let it color how u see the rest of the world; if there is ONE more person like u out there, there's hope that u will find good people. there's nothing wrong with expecting honesty and trust and positive things from people; if it takes longer to find them, that just shows how special they are! good qualities should take work to find anyways; the easy route of being negative or mean or lazy is an easy path, but the high road is harder and therefore it will take more work to find them. but it's work well worth it! :)

You will be refreshed to know, that there is at least one honest, real person here. Me. I'm not here to be perverted or insulting like so many people are. Just here to kill time, and its interesting too. Just a normal down to earth gal. 21, happily married, beautiful daughter, busines owner, small town chick. I'm not into the insults and crap that so many people are. I get disappointed by them too, but occasionally you get a really good answer, or meet someone really cool. Take care, and good luck!

in the past few yrs i have come to realize that honesty really is the best policy therefore i try my best to be honest all the time however there have been times when i have needed to "fib" for good reason (ie: to avoid having to tell someone personal info that i don't feel they need to know-i know it's wrong but sometimes it's easier & quicker than being honest) but i don't "fib" if the "fib" is going to cause harm to someone

too honest for my own good. it gets me in a hell of a lot more trouble than lying would, but it's still worth it if you ask me.

First of all there are three levels of honesty. Simple honesty, merciful honesty, and brutal honesty. I am brutally honest.
