If it's open as long as you have a really good top on it, it should last 2-3 days. If you just put the cork back in, use it up the next evening. If it's closed, I've seen a bottle of wine from the 1800's, supposedly it was good, they were charging $1000 an ounce!!!

wine will continue to age if it is in the refrigerator, but at a much reduced rate. most wines produced today are meant to be consumed within 10-15 years, unless it is of an exceptional type (then it might last for a few decades)

if it's open it will only be good for a couple of days...if unopened it will last for months in the fridge.
if you don't plan on drinking it any time soon store it in a cool, dry, dark place, but not the fridge...wine only takes a few hours to chill.

once opened and oxygen, or air to get at it, most wines can go bad in just a few days, there are devices made to draw out the air to maintain freshness, but after they have been tested, they were discovered to leak and not serve their purpose after one day. Best to just drink it up!!
